In light of Super Mario Party getting a recent release with its online update in China, some new promotions have been set up. There are two different ones, but they will both be running from now through August 31, so people have the entire summer to take advantage.

The first promotion that Nintendo and Tencent set up with Holiday Inn will be running at 24 Holiday Inn locations in China. Guests there will both be able to play Super Mario Party in the lobby, and they can also get a Nintendo Switch in their rooms.
Similarly, the promotion running through IKEA will include 12 different locations that have made some of their show rooms Super Mario Party themed. People will have the opportunity to play the game while they’re shopping.
As Daniel Ahmad, a senior analyst who covers the video game market in China and Asia, explains, the promotions might seem strange to those who are outside of the country, but China does not have a console culture. This means that a promotion like this will encourage more people to get a first experience and be more likely to buy consoles there. Additionally, the domestic tourism has increased in China due to limited travel, so more people will be likely to take advantage of these promotions.
Super Mario Party has expanded its reach in more ways than one. Considering that just a few months ago, Super Mario Party received an update that allowed for people to play together online. Though it took a whopping two years after the game’s release for this update to happen, it’s better late than never.
Soon, the Mario Party franchise will be expanded even more, as we see the release of Mario Party Superstars on October 28 for the Nintendo Switch. The game will feature some of the older boards from the classic N64 games, and it will also include 100 of the original mini games. As it turns out, the rumors about a new Mario game were correct!
