Samurai Warriors 5 brings period-themed mosou action to Nintendo Switch this summer. The game was revealed during the most recent Nintendo Direct broadcast. For the history buffs among us, Samurai Warriors 5‘s narrative takes place after the Ōnin War during the golden age of the Sengoku period. You can watch the first trailer below:

With revamped character designs and a vibrant, illustrated art style, SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 dives into the Sengoku period and shines its spotlight on Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi.
Beginning on beginning February 25 JST, fans can tune in to the monthly Samurai Warriors livestream to find out more about the game’s storyline and features in the buildup to launch. There’s no release date just yet for Samurai Warriors 5, but as ever we’ll be sure to update once we’ve learned it.
