OTs 9 SMG Easily Unlocked By Black Ops Cold War Players

The new OTs 9 SMG was recently added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Players can either complete a few in-game tasks for it, or pay £9 (roughly $12.5) to get their hands on it. However, it seems the in-game challenges aren’t all that easy as the devs make them sound. Fortunately, some players have found an easy way to unlock the SMG.

The in-game task to unlock the OTs 9 in Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer is “Using SMGs, kill 3 enemies affected by your Tactical Equipment in 15 different completed matches." This task may look easy, but any average online player will tell you that it’s not. Eurogamer’s Wesley Yin-Poole tried it out for themselves and had a tough time of it. “It was incredibly difficult to get kills on enemies affected by these three items, mainly because of how fast-paced and lethal Black Ops Cold War plays,” they said.

Tactical Equipment in Black Ops Cold War include items like stun grenades, smoke grenades, and decoys. One seldom uses these in an intense multiplayer firefight, let alone getting a kill via them; and getting three kills seems almost impossible.

Luckily, some players have found an easier way to complete this challenge and unlock the OTs 9 SMG for the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. Aptly named Redditor, HereToMoanAbtSmethng put up a post complaining about the challenge and asked for tips to complete it. No matter how many stun or flash grenades they used, they couldn’t seem to complete that challenge.

In response some players suggested an easy way of unlocking the weapon, featuring the Danger Close perk, which will allow you to deploy with two decoys. The decoy is a tool that distracts opponents by mimicking the sound of footsteps. Use this in a 6v6 Face Off playlist; the small area will ensure that someone will hear the decoy and be under the effect of your equipment. Now it’s up to you to rack up those kills and earn the OTs 9 SMG.

Twitch streamer, chrissoaresgtr appeared to be using a "soft aimbot" hack, as they were getting shots that didn't at all align with where the gun was aimed. While they managed to escape this week’s ban wave, their Twitch account got banned after a video of them using the hack made the rounds.
