June kicks off with a trio of major releases. It’s an especially strong week in the lead-up to E3.
Kicking off the big releases this week is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. In what ultimately boils down to a remaster of a remake, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches on June 10th for PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive with new Yuffie DLC.
Players lucky enough to have picked up a PlayStation 5 who already own Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 will get the upgrade to Intergrade’s visuals for free. The actual new content can be purchased as either DLC or as part of the physical PlayStation 5 release. It’s a PlayStation 5 exclusive for “at least six months,” so Xbox players should expect to wait that long to get their hands on this.
Launching on the same day as Final Fantasy VII Intergrade is the trilogy of (mostly) classic Ninja Gaiden games. Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection includes remasters of Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. While the initial launch of Ninja Gaiden 3 wasn’t great, the Razor’s Edge release fared far better.
The games run at 4K, 60 frames per second on all consoles from the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X generation onward. The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection launches digitally for $39.99 for the standard edition. The deluxe edition retails for $44.99, which includes a digital artbook and soundtrack. Meanwhile, Playasia has a physical version.
Last, but definitely not least, is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Announced during the PlayStation 5 reveal as a showpiece for Sony’s new console, fans have been waiting for this release with bated breath. Built to take advantage of the PS5’s super-fast SSD, players meet the new lombax Rivet for the first time and jump back into the shoes of Ratchet and Clank when Rift Apart launches on June 11th exclusively for PlayStation 5.
