Square Enix have announced a delay in the release date of RPG shooter Outriders, along with the announcement of a demo for the game.

The game was originally set to launch Holiday 2020, but was later delayed to February 2021. Now Outriders will launch April 1st, 2021 for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A Google Stadia version was previously planned for later in 2021.

The statement from the game’s official Twitter account explains the extra time will be spent “fine tuning” the game. In the meantime, a demo for the game will launch on February 25th, supporting both single player and co-op.

The demo will be focused around the first few hours of the game, with access to all four classes. Players can migrate their progress and characters from the demo to the full game.

You can find the full rundown (via Steam) below.

OUTRIDERS is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe.

As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you’ll create your own Outrider and embark on a journey across the hostile planet.

With rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, you’ll leave behind the slums and shanty towns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains and desert in the pursuit of a mysterious signal.

Combining intense gunplay with violent powers and an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets, OUTRIDERS offers countless hours of gameplay from one of the finest shooter developers in the industry – People Can Fly.
