Override 2 Announced With Gamescom Trailer | Game Rant

Giant mechs have been a staple of games for a long time. The giant mech seems like something that was made for video games as a medium, and it fits in well wherever even a little sci fi (or fantasy) is present. Players show their love for mechs in lots of ways, including fan art of Mudkip driving a Mudkip mech.

Override: Mech City Brawl was a game that tried to capture one of the best aspects of giant mechs in games: having them fight each other. The party mech brawler saw players control each limb of their mech independently, and it included weapon pickups, super moves, and several different mechs to choose from.

While Override: Mech City Brawl was ambitious, it went unnoticed by many. Now, the game is getting a sequel in Override 2: Super Mech League, and it looks like it will expand on everything the first delivered. Old favorite mechs are returning, alongside new faces, and new arenas are being introduced. Players will no longer be limited to cityscapes but will fight on floating platform laden battlegrounds, among other new locales.

Some of the new mechs look to add a bit more verticality to Override 2. Aura is a mech with a jet pack that looks more consistent than other mechs’ flight systems, while Sprinkles can trap her opponents in a floating bubble. Weapons appear to be returning as well, if the reactor thrown by Pescado and the gun held by Aura are any indication. Perhaps with the Beta announced in the same trailer, Override 2 will earn more attention than its predecessor. One day it may even take its place as one of the great mech games. Only time will tell.

Override 2: Super Mech League is coming Holiday 2020 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
