Animal Crossing: New Horizons Warp Pipe Functionality and March Seasonal Items Detailed

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo have explained how the Warp Pipes will work in Animal Crossing: New Horizons; along with seasonal items coming in March.

As previously reported, Super Mario Bros. themed clothes and items will be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary. These included a functioning Warp Pipe that can take you around the island.

In a recent announcement detailing other upcoming events, Nintendo have revealed that if more than one Warp Pipe is put on the island, the Pipe you exit will be chosen randomly. However, Warp Pipes can be used inside your home to warp to anywhere on your island. Players should leave plenty of room around the Pipe to jump in and out of.

The free update will arrive February 25th, while the items will be available to purchase in-game (with in-game Bells) from NookShopping on March 1st. Those who download the update will get the Mushroom Mural wall for free.

Other season items were also detailed. To celebrate Hinamatsuri (Doll’s Day or Girl’s Day in Japn, March 3rd), players will be able to obtain a hinaningyo doll, and a blossom lantern from February 25th to March 3rd. Each day there will be a different doll, making up the series. These dolls represent the royalty, attendants, and musicians of the Heian period (794 to 1185, deemed the last period of classic Japanese history).

March 14th will be Pi Day- as 3.14 are the first digits of Pi; a mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Between March 1st and March 14th, players can order a “π Pie.” Those with nerdy friends are sure to hear more puns around that time.

March 17th is Shamrock Day, a clear reference to the real life St. Patrick’s day, a Catholic feast day for the patron saint of Ireland, and a celebration of Irish culture. From March 10th to March 17th, players will be able to get shamrock soda, shamrock doorplates, shamrock rugs, and shamrock clothes. Only one item from the series will be available each day.

Finally, players who are partaking in the My Nintendo Missions (available only to some regions) are tasked with visiting the official Nintendo island. From March 9th 9:00 p.m. PT to March 24th 7:59 a.m. PT, players must visit the island via the Dream Address DA-6382-1459-4417.

Those who complete My Nintendo Missions can win a Super Mario Bros. Wave 2 collectible pin set, and the Super Mario Bros. Sweepstakes: Wave 2. The latter features a ton of Super Mario Bros. themed clothes, Lego, merchandice, and more.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
