Phasmophobia’s Next Update Includes New Ghosts And Equipment

It's almost October, which means the weeks of spooky games are ahead of us. It's the perfect time for developer Kinetic Games to add to Phasmophobia, and it looks like it may have new ghosts and item textures arriving just in time for seasonal haunts.

As pointed out by PCGamesN, Phasmophobia's Twitter account promised "big things ahead", and has since followed up with teases of what we may see coming to the ghost hunting adventure soon. Kinetic Games also recently expanded, turning its one-man show into a team of developers eager to build upon the experience with bigger, more quality, content drops.

While there's no name attached to Kinetic's otherworldly entity just yet, a screenshot with blurred-out previews of Phasmophobia's ghost-hunting journal offers a preview of how two new scaries just may work. The first is a "very vocal and active ghost. They are rumored to be quiet when hunting their prey." Its strengths also seem to say "known to be quieter when hunting," but the word "quieter" is blurred out. It's difficult to make out what its weakness is.

The second page reveals that the other ghost can only be revealed under special conditions, we just can't see what those are since the text is blurred. The mystery creature's strength is also hard to read, with the texting saying, "will usually only shot itself" and then there's a blur, before adding, "there are no people nearby."

Folks in the comments are trying really hard to guess what the new enemies may be, but Kinetic Games won't confirm anything just yet. Some players even seem to think that the blurred text on the pages indicates we may have some new items to use when busting these ghosts.

In a little less subtle of a tease, the official Twitter account also shared a new image of the van's loadout, complete with new models for equipment. Most all of this just looks like old items with a new facelift, but a tweet from earlier this month makes it seem like we may have a camcorder on the horizon.
