Pikmin Bloom may not have the same userbase and profile as Pokémon Go, but Niantic’s take on the franchise is nevertheless a rather pleasant AR experience. In our Pikmin Bloom review we praised its laidback approach and its healthy, feelgood vibe. It seems that Niantic is eager to keep the app progressing, too.
As reported by Eurogamer, the app is getting an update on 28th April with new weekly challenges, which particularly encourage you to take part and connect with friends.
They’ll be optional challenges each week, and the first set will be to walk 50,000 or 100,000 steps; progress will track in real time with rare nectars as rewards. Even if you don’t hit the target, though, you will still get something for your trouble.
For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere we’re starting to get into Springtime, so now could be an ideal opportunity to head out for some walks and give Pikmin Bloom a try.
Let us know in the comments if you play Pikmin Bloom, or perhaps if you’re tempted to try it out alongside these challenges in the coming weeks.
