Xbox Series X and PS5 might be the consoles of choice for most new releases of 2021, but one developer has announced its upcoming title will be launching on Game Boy Color later this year. From Incube8 Games comes Pine Creek –a murder mystery game that's getting a physical GBC cartridge this October.
The story of Pine Creek follows the disappearance of a young girl from a quiet town and is aimed at a mature audience – a rarity for most Game Boy Color games. Folks in town believe her disappearance has ties to a cult and other ritualistic killings that have been happening in the area, and it'll be up to you to figure out what's going on. The adventure will run for about four hours and features a classic GBC art style from an era long passed.

Although it's a Game Boy Color game, it boasts a PS5 price tag – the Standard Edition of Pine Creek clocks in at $59.99 and includes the following content:
- Sealed box
- Black game cartridge
- Cartridge protector
- Game manual
- Pre-sale versions include a limited-edition Pine Creek stickers sheet
You can also opt for a Collector's Edition that includes an enameled pin, CD soundtrack, game poster, certificate of authenticity, and is limited to just 200 copies. All that brings the price up to $89.99.
Developer Incube8 Games isn't new to the world of Game Boy Color games. In fact, that's sort of its specialty. The team previously worked on Infinity for GBC, and even created a title for the original Game Boy, titled Genesis. If you happen to have your old handheld sitting in a box in your basement, Incube8 Game's latest title might be a good reason to dust it off.
Pine Creek is now available for pre-order and is expected to arrive this October.
