PlayStation Now To Add One Final Fantasy Title A Month Starting Next Week

Anyone subscribed to Sony's PlayStation Now service is in for a treat these next five months. The company announced this morning that a different Final Fantasy title will be coming to PS Now each month starting on September 7, 2021. The first addition will be the eternal classic Final Fantasy 7 from PS1 (which was released in a remastered format on PS4 years ago). After that on October 5, players can jump into Final Fantasy 8 Remastered and see this mostly overlooked entry for themselves.

On November 2, Final Fantasy 9 will enter the fray. This is one not to miss as many consider it the best Final Fantasy title (though they are mistaken as 6 fits that bill). On December 7, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will make its debut on the service and provide you with over 100 hours of RPG action. Lastly, on January 4, 2022, Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age will land on the service and complete Square Enix's excursion with PS Now.

Sony is quick to note that these titles will be playable on PS4, PS5, and PC via streaming, though owners of Sony's platform can download the titles to their consoles. It's not a bad lineup at all, but there is no guarantee when these games will leave. Each has had a presence on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass over the past year and remained on the platform for roughly a year.

I find it hard to believe that any fans of the series haven't already played these games or own them in some capacity, but you can't deny this is good news. Sony has yet to really turn PlayStation Now around, but putting classic games on the service is one way to turn some heads.
