Pokemon Fan Creates Incredible 3D Shadowcard Beedrill

Most Pokemon fans have likely owned cards from the Pokemon Trading Card Game, whether to play competitively or to casually add to their own special Pokemon item collection. However, once in a while, hardcore fans make their own paraphernalia based on the card game, even going so far as to customize them. Recently, the Pokemon TCG fan known for producing their own 3D cards has once again shared their latest creation, this time focusing on one of the 1st Gen Pokemon, Beedrill.

Scalping in the Pokemon TCG has been a rampant issue in the industry, and this is due to Pokemon's anniversary releases and collaborations with big franchises such as McDonald's. The card game is known for having extremely expensive cards, with fans giving a lot of value to first-edition cards in mint condition. Given how not all Pokemon TCG fans can actually afford these kinds of purchases, some likely settle for unique pieces such as custom cards, just to have something special in their collection.

Not a stranger to the Reddit platform where they share most of their work, user PrismCard posted a short video of their custom 3D Shadowcard of Beedrill. The Redditor used several Pokemon TCG foil cards to make their creation, giving it a 3D visual effect that makes the Beedrill look like it is jumping out of the card's frame. The original poster likely took much care in cutting and pasting the individual pieces together to achieve the amazing look of the custom card.

This is not the first time that PrismCard shared their work online. Just a few weeks ago, they posted their 3D Shadowcard of Psychic-type Pokemon Abra. Given just how widely known the Pokemon franchise and all of its categories are, it is not surprising that fans actually enjoy these kinds of custom fan art. The Reddit post has since been upvoted by 99%, with many comments praising PrismCard's work, and calling the 3D card very cool. Some even asked the Redditor about the production process, wondering how many cards it took to make the artwork. PrismCard stated that they used 9 Beedrill Pokemon TCG cards to create that singular piece.

The Redditor has also created several custom cards for other known series such as Naruto and Dragon Ball. Hopefully they continue to make unique 3D Pokemon TCG pieces. However, if they aim to make one for each of the 900 Pokemon in the franchise, it may take them quite a while.
