GO Fest 2021 is just around the corner, and this year the developers have pulled out all of the stops because it's a big year for Pokemon. This year not only marks the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise, but it is also the 5th anniversary of Pokemon GO and the 5th annual GO Fest, so to commemorate this milestone trifecta, Niantic is kicking off GO Fest on Saturday, July 17th, with a celebratory concert!
You can bet that means the day will be jam-packed with melodious-themed perks and activities, and it's all taking place between 10 am and 6 pm. With so much to do and so little time, let's go over the complete agenda for day one of GO Fest 2021.

Open Event Perks For Day One
Whether or not you decide to buy a ticket to GO Fest 2021, there will be plenty of festivities for you to take part in just by logging in during the event.
Hourly Habitats
This year's featured habitats are:
- Jungle
- Desert Mountain
- Ocean Beach
- Cave
Raids
Raids held during the event hours of 10 am to 6 pm will host special, festively costumed Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon variants. Additionally, Cranidos, Deino, and Hitmontop, among others, will appear in raids during event hours.
Musical Pokemon
Musically inclined pokemonwill be spawning in the overworld during the event as well.The a-list sighting of the day will be a festively costumed Pikachu, ready to rock the mic, while other pokemon such as Audino, Chimecho, and Kricketot will be making wild appearances as well.
Shiny Pokemon
New shinies will be joining the roster of pokemon now available in Pokemon GO. The Pokemon making their first star-studded entrance are Audino, Chimecho, Kricketot, and Tympole.
In-Game Souvenir T-Shirts
Every participating trainer will receive an event-themed graphic T-shirt souvenir for their avatar.
Event-Long Open Features
Now that the time-sensitive activities and perks are out of the way let's look at what there is to enjoy throughout all of GO Fest 2021.
Longer Lures
Lure Modules of any type will experience an x3 duration when activated during event hours on either day.
Faster Hatching Eggs
Eggs will hatch in half the distance required if placed in an Incubator during event hours on either day. The 7km Eggs will include Audino, Chingling, and Igglybuff, among others.
A New Field Research Task
All trainers may take part in an exclusive Field Research Task tied to GO Fest 2021.
Visual Effects To Discover
Special overworld visual effects will occur during the event in response to certain actions or milestones.
A New Overworld Soundtrack
Pokemon music producer Junichi Masuda composed new music especially for GO Fest 2021, to be featured as the overworld soundtrack throughout the event.
A Chance To Have Your Screenshots Shared
Share your trainer photos using #PokemonGOFest2021 and the Today View may feature your submission during the festival.

Ticketed Event Perks For Pokemon Go Fest 2021 Day One
An Exclusive Special Research Story
The first day of GO Fest 2021 is all about getting ready for the big show. Ticket holders will need to make several choices to pull together a concert with a special Pikachu Star front-mon. Choose between Pop Star or Rock Star Pikachu to headline the show and handpick the other band members as well. Each member of the band will don a special costume to commemorate the event.
The Global Challenge Arena
During each habitat hour, ticket holders will have to band together to complete a timed co-op challenge. The Today View will monitor the global progress of each task.
Themed Collection Challenges And Habitat Hours
Themed collection challenges will coincide with each habitat hour. Incense will be habitat-based and will stand a greater chance of attracting certain pokemon species depending on the habitat hour. Below is a chart of the pokemon more likely to be drawn to Incense during each habitat hour.

Increased Shiny Pokemon Spawns And New Shiny Variants
There will be increased shiny spawns both in the overworld and from Incense, but only between the event hours of 10 am to 6 pm. You will also gain exclusive first access to new shiny variants; Unknown F, Throh, and Sawk.
Event Long Ticketed Features
As with Saturday's list of activities, ticket holders will enjoy a few additional benefits all event long. Here's what you can expect:
Event-Themed Stickers
Tis the season of gifting, well in some regions of the world, and now it can be in the Northern hemisphere too! Ticket holders will get exclusive event-themed stickers from opening Gifts and spinning Pokestops.
Extra Surprises To Discover
Taking snapshots will garner great surprises all throughout the festival.
