Pokemon Go's long-delayed 2020 Safari Zone events have been given a new date of October 15 to October 17.
The Safari Zone events were originally going to be held in 2020, but were delayed due to their real-world elements being a risk due to Covid-19. The event will now allow ticket holders to visit the participating cities in person, or play the game remotely and get the same benefits.
Pokemon Go Safari Zone: Liverpool will be taking place from Friday, October 15 to Sunday, October 17 in Sefton Park. Pokemon Go Safari Zone: Philadelphia is scheduled for Friday, October 29 to Sunday, October 31 in Fairmount Park. Finally, Pokemon Go Safari Zone: St. Louis is now happening from Friday, November 12 to Sunday, November 14 in Tower Grove Park.
The Safari Zone event allows players with tickets to go to real-world locations and get special Pokemon Go rewards for doing so including, featured Pokemon appearing in the wild and being attracted to eight-hour-long Incense, event-exclusive Special Research and Field Research tasks, extended Lure Modules, and special 2km Eggs. Philadelphia players will also be able to take a snapshot for a "special surprise".
In regards to the event coming back in person, Niantic said, "We’re working closely with local authorities to design safe event experiences, implementing precautions such as careful line management, social-distancing protocols, and mask requirements for all staff members. When planning your Safari Zone experience, please follow all health guidelines and pay attention to any travel restrictions. If these events must be postponed again due to governmental guidance or direction from local authorities, we will notify ticket holders as soon as possible."
