Pokemon GO Ultra Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO Fest 2021’s Ultra Unlock Part 3 is here as the final send-off for the event, with it running from August 20 through August 31. During this time, several new Pokemon from Sword and Shield have been added to the game, including Falinks, Wooloo, Zacian, and Zamazenta. This also adds new shiny forms for Galarian forms of Pokemon, such as Meowth, Farfetch’d, and Weezing.

If nothing else than for the two legendaries, fans will want to be sure they complete all the event has to offer, as there’s a little something for everyone. To that effect, the event has two forms of research: Pokemon GO’s timed research tasks and the standard field research.

Pokemon GO Fest 2021 Ultra Unlock New Pokemon, Important Field Research Tasks

The field research for the Ultra Unlock Part 3 isn’t complicated, with most being easy to do. It will require some effort on the Pokemon GO player’s part due to the primary encounter tasks, which are arguably the best of the bunch. As noted below, to get Galarian Farfetch’d, Wooloo, Skwovet, or Falinks, players have to get out and complete tasks that can take up a bit of time.

Generally, the idea with Pokemon GO field research tasks is to know whether or not players should keep the task for an encounter or good reward or toss them for another. Preference obviously matters here, but Pokemon GO Fest 2021’s Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts, Earn 5 Hearts with Your Buddy, Use 7 Berries to Help Catch Pokemon, and Win 2 Raids are generally worth keeping.

Defeat 3 Team Go Rocket Grunts – Galarian Farfetch’d encounter

Earn five Hearts with Your Buddy – Wooloo encounter

Spin 10 PokeStops or Gyms – 5 Pokeballs

Take a snapshot of Wild Pokemon – 2 Pinap Berries

Use 7 Berries to Help Catch Pokemon – Skwovet encounter

Win 2 raids – Falinks encounter

Some players may already have Skwovet, which is good, and players may want another Galarian Farfetch’d to evolve or keep. The two primary encounters that result in new Pokemon and are the most important to keep from this event are Earn 5 Hearts With Your Buddy and Win 2 Raids, giving players Wooloo and Falinks respectively. Repeating this task will also help players evolve their Wooloo into a Dubwool, and that’s only going to expand the player’s Pokedex.

Of course, players don’t have to attempt to have this done over night. Pokemon GO players have until August 31 to obtain these tasks and get these Pokemon in this method.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS in select regions.
