With the amazing range of Pokemon merchandise available in its homeland of Japan, many fans in the United States and Canada likely feel that they are a little bit left out by The Pokemon Company. The company has addressed this issue by opening an online version of the Pokemon Center that is able to cater to Western fans, especially when it comes to Pokemon-themed items. Now, new merch has been announced by The Pokemon Company, allowing fans of Snorlax and Ditto to bring home bean bag versions of the Normal-type Pokemon.
Though the Pokemon Center in older games is known to house Nurse Joy and the capacity to heal injured Pokemon, it has since evolved into more of a one-stop shop in the newer generation games. This may have been the company's inspiration in opening actual Pokemon Centers in Japan, and in the West, but with the intention for fans to have a more physical look and feel of the items they are selling. Due to the pandemic, many of the Japanese locations have been closed down, yet Pokemon aficionados can still order newly released items through the online store.

On the official Pokemon Center site, details about the Snorlax and Ditto bean bag items have already been uploaded. The merch is created by Yogibo, a brand known for its lounge bags, and bean bag furniture. The Ditto design is sized at 30 x 30 x 45 inches, while the Snorlax version has dimensions of 40 x 30 x 45 inches. Both bean bags have the capacity to hold persons weighing up to 250 to 300 lbs, or 113 to 136 kilograms. Though these chairs are fairly large, they are not the first giant Pokemon stuffed items produced by the company.
Made from a combination of cotton, elastane, and polyester, the bean bag chairs are filled with EPS beads to make them all the more huggable and squishy. Both have the same price of $199.99 USD. However, given the size of the furniture, Pokemon fans based in the West may not feel as guilty for shelling out that much cash. This likely beats having to spend a big sum to ship large and expensive Pokemon items from Japan.
As of writing, both Snorlax and Ditto bean bag chairs can already be ordered via the website. Standard shipping will take around 5-9 business days, depending on where a customer is based. Hopefully The Pokemon Company will add more giant Pokemon items in the collection to entice more fans to purchase them.
