With all of the recent news regarding Pokemon Legends: Arceus, fans are buzzing about the Hisui region, its new creatures, and the new Pokemon battling styles found in the title. Some players are using their own creative talents as an outlet for their excitement. One Reddit user decided to tackle making their own 3D model of the Poke Ball found in the game, and it's stunningly photorealistic.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the history of the Sinnoh Region, back when it was called the Hisui Region. As technology in this older region is notably not as detailed and fantastical as most other Pokemon games have it, the Poke Balls players get to throw are notably different. The ball is mostly made out of wood and features a hole for the firecrackers it shoots when a creature is securely captured as some of its downgrades comparatively.

Reddit user Melkerio posted an image of their Hisui-based Poke Ball model sitting on a wooden table against a sunset backdrop. The metal of the ball features scratches and imperfections as it reflects the light around it beautifully, while the wood features a texture that matches the way the ball would be hand-crafted if it were real. The modeler also posted a polygon map to show further detail as to how the model was made.
The comments are filled with other fans swearing that the Poke Ball render tricked them into thinking it was a real object, with some expressing that the image has led them to want a Poke Ball of their very own, which Melkerio agrees on. One fan in the comments has asked if the design is 3D printable to possibly make having the device a reality, but the modeler has said that the way the design was made means it's not optimized for 3D printing. Melkerio has suggested they might make a 3D printable model later on.
Once again, fans have used their creativity to try and make the world of Pokemon come to life in spectacular fashion. Loyal players are capable of using their love to make incredible things for the 25-year-old franchise, such as life-sized papercrafts of their favorite Pokemon.
While Melkerio's Poke Ball can't exactly be thrown at an unexpecting wild Hisuian Growlithe, it's still gorgeous to look at, and keeps the hype alive for Pokemon Legends: Arceus as fans wait until next year to have it in their hands.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
