The story takes place before the Sinnoh region even had that name – it was instead called the Hisui region. You play as a member of the Galaxy Expedition Team, visiting Jubilife village and using this as your base of operations to venture out on assignments and to fulfil requests, before returning back to the village. Each expedition will give you the opportunity to fill your Pokédex and increase your standing within the Galaxy Team.

Setting out from the village, one of the first stops will be to a base camp, acting as a forward base where you can stop for a rest, let your team of Pokémon recuperate, and craft items using the workbench. The kinds of tasks you might undertake as you journey can include using attacks and abilities a certain number of times, catching a number of a certain Pokémon and more. Cristina Aguilera has had some hands on time with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and she said:

[While shooting the campaign], my daughter was able to fall in love with a new game. We had a brief moment to [try out] Pokemon Legends: Arceus . It’s so gorgeous, the graphics and the setting that you get to explore in, so she was loving that so much, she wouldn’t give me a turn. But that was on set and yeah, it’s just such a great way for your family to connect.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released on January 28th for Nintendo Switch.
