Pokemon Unite Servers Will Be Down September 21 Between 2:00PM To 12:00AM PT

Pokemon Unite will be unplayable for a whopping ten hours this Wednesday, as the game is prepared for the long-awaited mobile launch. Considering both versions will feature cross-play and cross-progression, the Switch release will have to go offline while the mobile port is prepared.

The maintenance will take place between 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM PT. When everything is back online, the mobile version of the game should be ready to go too, further expanding the playerbase.

It's unsurprising that the game will have to go offline for so long in preparation for the mobile launch. In its first couple of months on Switch, the game has been hit with bugs, balancing issues, and trolls. Many will be hoping that these can be ironed out before even more players come on board. The team has not gone into any specifics on what will be changed, but says that there will be "adjustments".

Even before it goes live on mobile, we can already tell that Pokemon Unite is likely to be successful on the platform. The game recently hit five million pre-registrations on mobile, on top of nine million downloads on Switch. To mark the milestone, players are going to receive gifts of Aeos Tickets and Holowear, which will be available until the end of the month.
