Typically, PS Plus subscribers are already aware of the upcoming month’s games as the last Wednesday of August has already passed. The “last Wednesday of the month” reveal pattern does come with a couple of stipulations, namely that it is also the last Wednesday of a month before the Tuesday in which the games are made available. This is why September is almost here, but fans don't officially know its PS Plus selection yet.
Because August ends on a Tuesday and the PS Plus games will release on Tuesday, September 7, fans can expect the announcement on Wednesday, September 1. Either way, while fans are indeed waiting a little longer than normal, a reliable leak means that fans may already know what is coming next month. According to the French website Dealabs, which has accurately leaked PS Plus games in the past, the three titles are Overcooked! All You Can Eat, Hitman 2, and Predator: Hunting Grounds.

This PS Plus leak should still be taken with a grain of salt since Sony has yet to confirm it itself. It does remain to be seen, but on the assumption that the leak is trustworthy, here’s what fans need to know about each game.
PS Plus September 2021 – Overcooked! All You Can Eat
With one exception thus far this year, every major PS5 game released on PS Plus has been a new title. It seems Sony is breaking from this tradition now, as Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a remaster bundle of the first two games, as well as all of their extra content. The good news is that it is a PS5 version of this remaster releasing, taking it up another notch.
The game itself is also a bit self-explanatory: Overcooked is a co-op cooking game (now with crossplay) for 1-4 players, where they must prepare, cook, and serve orders to customers. However, it does seem developer Team17 took it a little further than a standard remaster. Not only did it introduce new accessibility options and an assist mode, but the bundle also offers more than 200 levels, 7 new levels, 3 new chefs, new trophies and achievements, faster loading times, and 4K 60 FPS when/where possible.
PS Plus September 2021 – Hitman 2
Hitman 2 is one of the two PS4 games supposedly being offered in September 2021, the midway point in the World of Assassination trilogy. Hitman 3 came out earlier this year, but both games are equally worthy of replaying. Hitman 2 sees Agent 47 track down the mysterious “Shadow Client,” switch sides, and assist him with Providence’s leader.
Gameplay is similar to the first Hitman, as it continued many of the things that made the overall franchise a suggest. Hitman 2 features 8 or so missions spread across the world, as well as the iconic Elusive Targets. For fans of stealth-adventure games, Hitman 2 is a welcome addition to the PS Plus lineup.
PS Plus September 2021 – Predator: Hunting Grounds
While Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a new game covering the popular Aliens franchise, it does add up that Sony is bringing in some Predator too, with Predator: Hunting Grounds taking up the other PS4 slot. It only received mixed/average reviews, but as with all games, it may very well benefit from PS Plus’ typical boost to multiplayer games. Specifically, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer game in the veins of Evolve or Dead by Daylight. Players must complete their paramilitary-oriented iterations before the Predator takes them out.
To do so, there are plenty of options such as avoiding the Predator, killing the Predator, and/or completing the variety of tasks with some variations based on how the Predator vs. Fireteam Voodoo matches go. There is a loot crate system, applicable to both Fireteam and Predator characters, and a few other mechanics to keep players invested.
