PSVR2 Leaks Didn’t Reveal Its Most Exciting Specs

Despite seeing a substantial leak in May, it sounds like the most enticing aspects of PSVR2 remain a secret. The news comes from Rich Leadbetter – technology editor at Digital Foundry – who made the statement in passing during a recent podcast.

Earlier this year, leaked documents mentioned the upcoming PSVR2 headset will feature a 4000×2040 resolution, gaze tracking, and a vibration feature, marking a huge leap forward from Sony's original product on PS4. As exciting as the news was, it sounds like the best is yet to come.

"We've seen some leaked specs and it looks good," Leadbetter said. "We've seen some other specs which haven't been leaked which make it look even better." It's not much – but it's already got fans theorizing as to what big plans Sony has for its next-gen headset.

Leadbetter's statement also seems to corroborate the previous leaks, meaning the resolution, gaze tracking, and vibration tech are likely included in the specs.

PSVR2 isn't scheduled for a 2021 release, and there's no indication as to when Sony will release official information about the product. Another rumor this summer indicates we might see a launch during the 2022 holiday season, but – again – nothing has been confirmed.

For now, we'll have to sit tight and hope that all the rumors and rumblings hold true when PSVR2 makes its debut.
