During the Gamescom indie showcase, publisher Raw Fury and developer Oskar Stålberg revealed that their charming city builder, Townscaper, is now available for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
Just like a set of wooden blocks from your childhood, Townscaper gives you the freedom to construct your own, imaginative cities and towns. Its description is honest and charming, noting there's "No goal. No real gameplay. Just plenty of building and plenty of beauty."

It's best thought of as a toy, and not a game, giving you an outlet to design your town just the way you like it. You'll use blocks from your chosen color palette to drop into Townscaper's grid system. From there, the AI will morph your placements into houses, bridges, and backyards, among other things.
There's not a ton it'll ask of you, but that's part of the charm. Townscaper joins 2021's ranks of other heartfelt indies that serve as more of a relaxing experience, dropping trends of intense action and over-the-top violence for something you can cozy up with.
You can pick up Townscaper now for just $5.99.
