In this guide we're focusing on Season 10's latest weapon, the Rampage LMG. This is a brand new LMG that rapidly spits out bullets and takes down enemies – if you charge it up first, that is. This weapon essentially has two modes, and if you're looking to take it up close to foes and spit bullets, then you're going to need to prepare in advance. Just read down below for everything you need to know about Apex Legends' new Rampage LMG.

Rampage LMG Damage And Stats

The Rampage LMG is potentially very powerful, but it has a fire rate that can make the G7-Scout blush. It is one of the slowest automatic weapons in the game, but that makes it fairly stable at range, and each bullet does a decent amount of damage. For the specifics, take a look at our table below. Extra information sourced from the Apex Legends fandom.

Ammo Heavy
Fire Rate 300 RPM
Fire Rate, Revved Up 390 RPM
Damage, Body Shot 28
Headshot Damage 42
DPS 140
DPS, Revved Up 182

The Rampage LMG overall has good stats, but in order to take down foes quickly, you need to use the Revved Up function.

How The Rampage LMG's Revved Up Mode Works

The Rampage LMG can essentially be charged in the same manner as the Sentinel. While you can use two Shield Cells to charge the Sentinel's shield damage, with the Rampage you can sacrifice a Thermite Grenade in order to get a pretty substantial fire rate upgrade.

As mentioned, the fire rate for the Rampage isn't too impressive, but as long as you have a Thermite Grenade you're willing to waste, you can unlock the fire rate for a healthy boost, one which will be able to deal 182 damage per second to the body of a non-Fortified Legend. That means enemies with a Blue Shield can be swat like flies in a single second each, and those with bigger shields won't be too far behind.

The Revved Up mode lasts for 90 seconds in total, which is very generous, but each shot will subtract two seconds, so you will likely use up most of the Revved Up time in a single clip. Still, if you're face to face with enemies, that single clip should be more than enough to break a few shields and get yourself a knockdown.

Rampage LMG Best Strategies

Since the Rampage has a low fire rate to start with, you can use it at medium to long-range to decent effect. That low fire rate means there's not too much recoil, and you can pick off enemy shields from a distance.

As soon as you want to get close though, the Revved Up function is necessary. When not Revved Up, the Rampage just can't hold up against other LMGs and Assault Rifles, and you'll often find enemies overwhelming you. If you are going into a lengthy firefight and you're not likely to be able to get Revved Up easily, it might be a good idea to keep a secondary weapon that can keep up with faster firing guns.
