Random: Nintendo Direct Announcement Sends Smash Bros. Final DLC Fighter Speculation Into Overdrive

As you might have heard, a new Nintendo Direct broadcast will be taking place tomorrow. The presentation will run for “roughly” 40 minutes and is expected to focus “mainly” on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter.

While we’ve heard all sorts of rumours from Game Boy coming to Nintendo Switch Online to a mysterious new controller reveal in the lead up to this Direct, there’s also been a lot of speculation about the final DLC fighter announcement for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it seems to have now gone into overdrive as fans from all over the globe make what could be their final predictions.

For your own amusement, we’ve rounded up some of the highlights. It seems to be the usual names floating about like the famous anime character Goku (who many would argue is not eligible for Smash), Crash Bandicoot – who is currently celebrating his 25th anniversary, Xbox’s mascot Master Chief, Capcom’s legal rep – Phoenix Wright, Pokémon, Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series, Waluigi and more.

Although the game’s director Masahiro Sakurai has reiterated on a number of occasions how this will truly be the final fighter, some fans are still open to the idea of Fighters Pass 3…

Keep in mind, there’s been no actual mention of the final fighter announcement taking place tomorrow, so we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, tell us who you would like to see fill the final slot in Fighter Pass 2.
