The Devil May Cry series of hack-and-slash spectacle fighters prides itself on being cool, and sometimes that drive to capture style as substance leads in unexpected directions. Right now, it looks like the franchise has decided that even its official character figures need to be as over-the-top as possible, with one exceptionally realistic Devil May Cry 5 Dante figure pricing thousands of dollars.
Prime 1 Studio recently revealed the High Definition Museum Masterline Devil May Cry 5 Dante figure, which is a 1/2 scale recreation of the Legendary Devil Hunter's more grizzled appearance from the 2019 title. This isn't the first time this elite statue manufacturer has made an intricate sculpture of a Devil May Cry character, but it may be the most expensive Devil May Cry figure yet.

While this statue of Dante only includes a single character, unlike the previous V sculpture which came with his familiars, the level of detail that Prime 1 Studio managed to pack in is incredible. He stands at 43 inches tall, weighs 30 kilograms, and comes armed with his sword Rebellion and his signature guns, Ebony and Ivory. This statue is part of the Museum Masterline Series, featuring high-quality fabric clothing, and the company's tailors have made a very deliberate attempt to recreate every stitch he wears in the game from his threadbare Henley shirt to the bandages around his wrists to the long red coat that he's made famous.
Even the small metal rivets and zippers on his outfit have been recreated for this figure. The result is a carefully sculpted–and sewn–tribute to what may be Devil May Cry's most iconic character design. It's also set to cost $2,699.00. For fans with money to burn and a desire to run their fingers through Dante's white hair, Prime 1 Studio also has a special Black Label version that features two swappable head parts. One head is sculpted in Polystone, while the other features silicone and a full head of synthetic hair. Even his eyebrows and beard will be soft, lending this Devil Hunter what may be an unrivaled degree of realism for the price of $4,299.00.
As of this writing, the sculpture is still in the development stage, meaning that some details such as its final weight may change by the time it releases. However, dedicated fans can now pre-order these statues and begin pre-emptively making room in their collections. While this version of Dante is a bit different from the classic version shown in the original games and Devil May Cry anime, fans appear to be tentatively in support of the sculpture, though perhaps not of its price tag.
