Red Dead Redemption 2 Barrel Glitch Gives Off Metal Gear Vibes

Arthur Morgan was never known for his stealth skills. The most he’d do was use a dirty old handkerchief to cover his face, but that really doesn’t help when all of Dutch’s so-called “plans” end up in an intense shootout. However, this newly discovered glitch shows that Arthur has been learning stealth techniques from another iconic video game character.

As spotted by GameRant, Redditor rararasputin came across a hilarious glitch while playing Red Dead Redemption 2. It involved a barrel getting stuck on Arthur’s head. The player could walk around and pretty much continue the game as intended while the barrel still covered their entire top half. This kind of reminded me of Snake sneaking around using boxes in the Metal Gear series. When asked in the comments how they managed to do that, rararasputin responded saying, “All I did was fast travel to Valentine”.

The NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2 often react to your actions in the game, even if you’re not directly interacting with them. Take out your gun or put on your bandit mask, and they’ll start getting a bit uneasy. But considering that none of the NPCs even commented on Arthur running around with a barrel over his head, it seems like the stealth technique is working. Arthur even manages to summon his horse and ride off, making you wonder what horrors the citizens of Valentine have seen to not be surprised by a barrel riding a horse.

Red Dead Redemption 2's DLSS update is now available on PC. The feature can be enabled via the Settings menu and will give you a performance boost of up to 45% at 4K. This will allow you to crank up the visual settings and play the game or Red Dead Online at it’s graphical best.
