Riders Republic, the upcoming extreme sports game from Ubisoft, revealed a new story trailer at Gamescom ahead of its October 28 release date, as well as opening up the beta.
From August 23-25, the game held a closed beta, which is where we completed our preview of the game. However, from now until August 28, the beta is open to all.

The trailer focussed on the Republic itself, and the characters you will meet throughout your five careers – bike tricks, bike racing, snow tricks, snow racing, and wingsuit. Each career is played in tandem, allowing you to bounce between them freely as you explore the open world comprised of several iconic US national parks.
The trailer emphasised the online elements of the game, including the mass races, which feature up to 60 players all racing together. In the game, you will be always-online racing against other palyers or the ghosts of their times in a battle to become the most supreme rider in the republic. However, in Mass Races, all the carnage happens at once.
In our preview, we praised the world and its love for the great outdoors, but criticised elements of the controls, and the ways it went against its own ideals of free exploration with gates on tracks. Still, we got to dress up as a giraffe, so we enjoyed it.
