With the uncertainty of how soon the Nvidia, AMD, and other tech hardware will be on the mend, what gamers and PC enthusiasts don't want to hear right now is more bad news. CEO Jensen Huang has even said that GPU shortages could last for the majority of 2022, so it's not looking like things are going to be improving any time soon. Despite it looking like there may have been some hope on the horizon, there are rumors going around which suggest supplies of Nvidia graphics cards are only going to get worse.
According to PC Gamer, a reliable message board believes that Nvidia will be experiencing a supply loss of up to 30% throughout this month. While the report insists that these have yet to be confirmed, or denied, by the company itself, it would make things a lot of harder for people looking to get hold of a new GPU. If true, it means that the tumultuous time currently being experienced by the market is perhaps not going to be seeing much improvement, despite some positive developments occurring recently.

What the rumor indicates, or is at least warning others about, is that the 30-series specifically may be the ones most affected by the drop in supplies, which will likely include things like the Nvidia RTX 3090 and other high-end graphics cards. If supplies do drop by almost a third, then it will only perpetuate the frustration that PC users have been feeling since the end of last year, and that there's still a long way to go before a silver lining can be found.
These warnings also go against the stories that have been circulating recently, which have shone a bit of a positive light on the situation. Back in July, users began to notice that Nvidia and AMD prices were beginning to drop in places like Germany. While cards were still not at their MSRP values, it hinted at a trend which the rest of the tech world could start seeing soon, and that maybe things were looking up.
There were also reports suggesting that GPU prices would start dropping within the next few months. Whether that will happen remains to be seen, but this recent rumor certainly puts a bit of a kink in the armor. Even with Best Buy recently getting Nvidia 30 cards in stock, which sold out with great rapidity, there doesn't seem to be anything anyone can do to help meet demand, and it looks as though it could get worse soon.
