The arrival of Jack Sparrow usually spells disaster in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies but in Sea of Thieves, it’s resulted in great success. Rare has confirmed that A Pirate’s Life, the new update which launched with Season Three, led to the game’s busiest month yet with 4.8 million active players. Executive producer Joe Neate thanked fans for taking part in the same.

“To all of you who’ve recently cast off for the very first time, jumped back in after a break or simply never stepped away from your regular Voyages, thank you from all of us and we hope that Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life (and the surprise of its unveiling!) was everything you could have wanted from a crossover on this scale.” In the meantime, the developer has been looking at feedback and introduced improvements to the new Tall Tales via several hotfixes since the season’s launch.

Its next major update is also available and introduces a number of fixes and improvements. From August 20th to 23rd, Gold and Glory Weekend will be active. This means that any treasure provided to the Trading Companies will pay out double Gold and Reputation (with Seasonal Renown also receiving some boosts). New cosmetics from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise are also available in the Pirate Emporium, from the Davy Jones Cursed Costume Set to the Cursed Ferryman Ship Collection.
