Shin Megami Tensei 5 Story Trailer Shows Off New Gameplay and Enemies

Shin Megami Tensei V Bethel Trailer

There is only a couple of months left before Atlus releases Shin Megami Tensei 5 on the Nintendo Switch. As the launch date draws nearer, the development team is building fan excitement by releasing trailers and in-depth SMT 5 reports that provide players with a sneak peek into the game. Now, Atlus has dropped a new trailer on YouTube, this time focusing on the game’s rumored protection organization, Bethel.

With more than seven years between the fourth and fifth numbered games, fans are most likely looking forward to the next title in the Shin Megami Tensei series. With its fanbase itching to play the fifth title, the extra game information and details released by the developers may have helped sate fan curiosity. Recently, players got a more detailed look into Shin Megami Tensei 5, its factions, gameplay, and characters. Given that Bethel has been slightly touched upon in all previously released footage, it is not surprising that Atlus proceeded to highlight its integral role in SMT 5 in their most recent trailer.

On the official Atlus YouTube channel, the Shin Megami Tensei 5 Bethel trailer is a bit under four minutes long. The video showcases some conversation and various narrations that reference the protagonist as the Nahobino, and their role in the struggle between the factions of Chaos and Order. One objective of Bethel in the war against the demons also comes into play as it seems to be preparing a full-scale attack to retaliate against their demon foes. Still, not much information about Bethel was revealed, likely leaving players to wonder if the organization truly hopes to protect the world from the demonic attacks.

Many replies on the YouTube comment section echoed excitement and hype for Shin Megami Tensei 5. Some said that the trailer provided a good mix of SMT 5 gameplay and cutscene footage that seemed to integrate together seamlessly. Players were also treated to appearances of characters and foes from Chaos and Order. They can also spot several of the new enemies and their attacks highlighted in the trailer.

With the gameplay environment mostly done in 3D, Shin Megami Tensei 5 likely looks to step up and become the next title to beat in the series. Though it seems eerily similar to the spin-off Persona franchise, most fans are likely more than satisfied to see another SMT game on the Nintendo console after so long. Hopefully, the game lives up to player expectations and creates a new generation of avid Shin Megami Tensei fans.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases on November 12, 2021, for Nintendo Switch.
