Bloober Team has revealed during an interview with LordsofGaming how the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 will be enhanced with state-of-the-art technology, including enhanced AI and a visual overhaul for its classic monster designs.
From the sound of things, the studio is looking to carefully respect the original game’s story while enhancing a number of visual and gameplay elements, including focussing heavily on the emotional expressing of its characters.
The town of Silent Hill has been reworked using state-of-the-art technology, and all creatures
have been recreated with more eerie visuals. The creatures’ battle AI has also been enhanced
to keep gamers on their toes.In addition to visuals and sound, the story experience is a focal point. We have delved into the emotional expression of every character, including the main character James, while respecting the acclaimed scenario of the original story.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently in development for PS5 and PC with a release date yet to be announced. However, the game is reportedly in the final stages of development, so hopefully we’ll hear something soon.
The original Silent Hill 2 was released in 2001 for the PS2 and is widely considered one of the greatest horror games ever made. The story follows James Sunderland, a young man who travels to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary.
