Sky: Children Of The Light Post-Game

Sky Children Of The Light Message Boats At Home Area (1)

When you finish the storyline in a game, it can mean that your time with the game is at an end, but luckily, that's not the case with Sky: Children Of The Light. Even though the story may have come to an end, your fun within the game won't be ending. There are many things that you can do in the game once you have played through the storyline.

When you have completed the story of the game, you will have unlocked every Realm and gained a feel for how it all works. One of the best things about the Realms in the game is that they're not solely restricted to you following the story. Yes, the areas are quite contained as it's not entirely open world, but this doesn't mean that there aren't little places that you can explore if you look hard enough.

You Can Leave Helpful Messages For Others

There are multiple areas in each Realm where you can leave messages for other players. After finishing the story, it may be helpful for you to travel back to Realms or specific areas that you found difficult, if you found a small area, or there is a Spirit that is hard to find. You could use these areas to leave messages for other players about things that you have learned.

Also, if you have them, you can leave little message boats in certain bodies of water. They act the same way as the messages you leave at message shrines throughout the game.

Go And Test Your Flying Skills

You can head back to the Realms and test your flying skills, as your Cape will probably be very strong by the time you end the story. The Valley Of Triumph Realm, in particular, will be a good place to do this, as there is a lot of space for you to fly around in.

Practicing your flight skills can be fun but it can also lead to you reaching areas that you previously found difficult.

You Can Speedrun The Levels

Speedrunning has become increasingly popular over recent years so why not try it out for yourself in a game where dying isn't really an option? The basic premise of speedrunning is completing a level in a game as fast as possible.

This game really lends itself to first-time speedrunners as there is very little room for you to die — it's virtually impossible, so if you make errors whilst trying to speedrun, it won't cost you anything.

Collect More Candles

Candles are the most common type of currency in Sky: Children Of The Light and they can be used for many different things. You collect Candles throughout the Realms or Fragments Of Light that eventually add up to a single Candle.

They can be used to purchase things from Spirits, or you can trade them in to create Hearts that you can give to your friends. Either way, you can return to all of the Realms once you have finished the story and keep going through them to collect as many Candles or Fragments as you want to.

Purchase Everything From Spirit Shops

When you rescue a Spirit, they reward you with an expression, but that's not the only thing they can give you. When you leave a Realm or awaken its Elder, you get to interact with the Spirits you have saved. Each of them has items in their shops that you can purchase using the different currencies in the game.

A lot of them offer cosmetic rewards or upgrades for the expression that they had previously given you. If you have finished the story, it can be fun to go back and try to buy every single thing from each Spirit shop.

Play Journey

Journey is another game made by Thatgamecompany. If you like this game, then there is a huge chance that you're going to enjoy playing Journey as well. This time, you travel through the game, and the vastness of the world can make you feel very small. In a similar fashion to Sky, you cannot verbally interact with other players that you meet and the only way you can communicate is through a small sound.

We won't spoil the story for you, but it's truly moving, and serves as another example of how great the developers are at creating an experience like this.

Gather Your Friends And Explore Together

There are a lot of puzzles throughout the Realms that require more than one person to solve. To find one of the Spirits in Daylight Prairie, you actually need to solve an 8-person puzzle which can become a headache in itself. Playing with friends has huge benefits in this game, especially as it was designed as a social game.

As well as them helping you, you can become a big help for your friends who maybe haven't gotten as far as you have. Also, they may know of hidden areas that you missed and they can help you find them. It's all about teamwork.

Take Advantage Of The Beautiful Scenery

When you've completed the story and re-visited certain Realms, you can take the time to appreciate just how beautiful the designs of each Realm are. All of the Realms have one similar quality: they have an eerie ethereal glow to them.

When you are not so pressured about following the story, you can actually set yourself up to take some stunning in-game screenshots. You can keep these to yourself or you can transfer them to your smart device to share with your friends.

Go Back And Collect All The Winged Lights You Missed

There are so many Winged Lights to collect that it's very easy to miss them the first time around. They are really important, though, as they are what you need to upgrade your Cape, which will give you a better flight ability. Once you finish the game, it's easier to go back to get the ones that you missed because you're not so focused on finishing the Realms.

There are sixteen Winged Lights in Hidden Forest to collect and you will need to call on all of your experience with the game to be able to find them all. This is the same for each and every Realm.

Go Back And Collect All Of The Spirits You Missed

When you reach the Altar of each Realm and awaken the Elder, you are greeted with a constellation that tells you how many Spirits you have rescued in each Realm. As with Winged Lights, some are easier to find than others and some Spirits can seem completely impossible to find.

By returning to find them once you have completed the story, you may have learned a few tricks and a few quirks of the game that can help you figure out where they might be. Some of the trickiest ones to get are the Spirits in Valley Of Triumph.
