Skyrim Fans Want Nexus Mods To Bring Back The NoSkyrim Mod

As we reported last week, fans were overjoyed with the launch of the NoSkyrim mod. Striking when the half-ironic Skyrim apathy was hot, NoSkyrim promised to make the game completely unplayable, saving you from sinking hundreds of hours into Bethesda's big moneymaker.

Alas, NoSkyrim did not last long on Nexus Mods. It was swiftly deleted for the very reason it exists – because it makes a game unplayable. Now, fans are rallying behind this unique little mod, campaigning for it to be reinstated on the website.

"Finally with this mod, I was able to break my crippling addiction to Skyrim. The NEXUS prohibiting its propagation is a symptom of the capitalist hellscape we all must endure.", reads one of the comments of support left on the petition to bring the mod back. It sits at just under 600 signatures at the time of writing and is full of jokey comments such as: "This mod made me realize what I was missing out of life."

Some are also using the opportunity to call Nexus out over its recent policy change: " While we're on the subject, how about y'all roll back that feature you added where authors can no longer delete their mods? #LetAuthorsOwnTheirMods."

On top of the petition, the mod's author also created the subreddit r/savenoskyrim. As you would expect, it's full of a whole bunch of Todd Howard memes, as well as desperate pleas for the mod to be restored on Nexus Mods. "I shed a tear every time I click the "new game" button and the game actually begins. SAVE NOSKYRIM", writes user oxisaw.

Sadly for the NoSkyrim Skyrim fans, Nexus is still yet to respond to their protests. There have been no comments on its deletion, and it isn't known if the site is actually aware of this growing movement. But who knows, stranger things have happened, right?
