Skyward Sword HD Is Already Among Amazon’s Best Selling Games Of 2021

Skyward Sword Amiibo

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD has only been around a mere ten days, and it's already topping sales charts. According to Amazon and Nintendo Life, Skyward Sword HD is now the third best-selling game at the online retailer in 2021. Not too shabby for a title that's 10 years old, as it seems to have found a second wind, welcoming both new and pro players alike.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario 3D World+ Bowser's Fury also make that list ahead of Skyward Sword HD selling more copies. Skyward Sword could potentially top the list – there's still plenty of time left in the year – and it's incredible to see it performing so well this early after its release. The only downside to the remake is, of course, the elusive Zelda and Loftwing Amiibo feature requiring an extra purchase. The amiibo has sold out a few times but restocks are expected quite soon.

In other regions such as the UK and Japan, it did come out on top. Recently, however, in the UK Skyward Sword lost its first-place spot to F1, unable to stay on top for more than one week in a row. It dropped an astonishing 74% in sales between its first week out and now.

Nintendo is making sure to keep itself in the news this month. First, they announced another Switch Model, and Pokemon Unite made its debut on the console as well. While it isn't the "Switch Pro" model many were hoping for its still something and could be good for new Switch owners. At least current Switch owners can buy the new dock separately.

Sadly when it comes to The Legend of Zelda's Anniversary it wasn't as big as Mario's. Skyward Sword HD, new Joy-Con, amiibo, and a new Game and Watch version, were all we have to commemorate the 35th. However, we did see Breath of the Wild 2 at E3 – so it's hard to complain too much.

For now, we can enjoy exploring Skyloft and beyond until that becomes a reality.
