Someone Invented a Creative Way to Protect Controllers From Rage

Gamers across all walks of life have different experiences with games, but one thing that players can all relate to is rage. Almost every player has once or twice thrown their controller against the floor or at the wall when rage quitting difficult games, but that may lead to controller repair fees or even replacement purchases. An inventor on TikTok, UnnecessaryInventions, has made something to help save controllers and wallets everywhere, while also letting gamers keep their outlet.

UnnecessaryInventions is known for being true to his name, making cool but questionable inventions like a hand-comb and plant pots for PlayStation 5 consoles. He shares these inventions on TikTok in quick videos while uploading more in-depth looks to YouTube to show his builds off more. If viewers are still interested after that, he even has his own shop where his inventions can be purchased.

The device he's created for gamers this time is an inflatable cylinder-like plastic container with holes similar to hand warmers. Players can place their controller inside the container with enough room for their hands to sit safely inside while still holding their controller of choice. Thanks to a see-through lid on the top, fans can still see all of the buttons, too. The video of what UneccessaryInventions calls the "Rage Quit Protector" shows him throwing it on the ground and against the wall and the controller is still intact on the inside.

It's definitely a fun way to still take out any gamer rage as a result of difficult titles such as Team Cherry's Hollow Knight. Even outside of the anger of video gaming, it's still a clever method of getting around an interesting problem. For any fans interested, the device isn't available for purchase just yet, but it might be in the future.

Still, there's an argument to be had that a product like this may encourage bad habits. As long as players remember to only take it out on the game, controllers, or even letting their rage out on NPCs, UnnecessaryInventions has their back as another victim of rage quitting.
