Sega have announced Sonic Origins during the Sonic Central livestream, and as part of the series’ 30th anniversary.
The collection will include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hesgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. Whether this will be a digital or physical collection is unclear; along with how interactivity with Sonic & Knuckles in other games in the collection will function.
Platforms were not announced at this time. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
“Sonic Collection” was previously listed on French retailer Sogamely, with a leaker claiming it would feature never-before re-released titles. It would seem on this occasion the leaker was wrong, or more news will be revealed soon. As for Sogamely, it is likely “Sonic Collection” was the internal or temporary name until it was finally confirmed today. If it is the same game collection, this would suggest a physical release.
