Spiritfarer's big summer update has finally arrived, bringing with it the addition of the spirit Beverly as well as numerous quality of life improvements, new buildings, and more. Developer Thunder Lotus promised the addition of four new spirits throughout 2021, the newest of which is Beverly, a tiny owl who happens to be Stella's old neighbor.

A couple of new buildings have also been added to the game, including a house for little ol' Beverly as well as an Archive Room the player can use to look up old documents, treasure maps, and Acetates. Also added is a radio in the Lounge which players can use to listen to any of the songs from the game's soundtrack as well as a number of new, spicy dishes to make.
A number of quality of life improvements also come with the new update, including a "Safe Travel" mode which allows players to automatically skip events while sailing, and a "Destination Queue" which allows players to select three points to visit in a single travel. A list of the biggest quality of life improvements added to Spiritfarer in this new update is below:
- You can now keep track of required materials for buildings, houses, stations, and improvements inside the Captain's log.
- In-game optional assistance for all Elena’s events when you fail.
- New Watering Upgrade and visuals for Field and Garden (Quest rewards)
- Sitting on any chair at night now enables the Stargazing mode, which hides the buildings and shows the starry night sky.
- “Going to sleep” sequence is now faster.
Spiritfarer's Beverly update is the second of three updates planned for 2021, with the final update coming at some point this Fall. The game's first update saw Lily – Stella's sister – added to the game, a spirit which gives the player the ability to sail at night. Previous and future updates for Spiritfarer are free to download, all you need is the original version of Spiritfarer and you'll automatically receive these new updates.
Spiritfarer is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and can be played on PS5 and Xbox Series X via backward compatibility. If you'd like to learn more about the game, you can read our review here.
