One of these unlockable animals is the golden chicken. This rare chicken isn't easy to unlock, so in this guide, we are going to go over everything you need to know to get your first golden chicken.
Requirement To Get A Golden Chicken
Prior to getting a golden chicken, you will need to reach 100% perfection. This will take a long time, so golden chickens are definitely a late-game farm animal.
For more information on reaching 100% perfection, be sure to check out this guide. Every step of the perfection tracker is explained to help you smoothly achieve 100% perfection. To see how close you are to unlocking golden chickens, you can find the perfection tracker in Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island. Here, you will be able to see what you need to do to achieve perfection.
After you have achieved 100% perfection, there will be three different ways to get your first golden egg. Below, we are going to look at each method.
Purchasing From Marnie's Ranch
The easiest way to get your first golden egg is to purchase it from Marnie. A golden egg will be available for purchase for 100,000g.
Purchasing from Qi's Walnut Room
If you don't have 100,000g to spend, you can also purchase a golden egg from Qi's Walnut Room. This will cost 100 Qi Gems, which can be earned through various Qi challenges.
Random Golden Witch Event
Every night, there is a 1% chance that a witch event will happen. If the witch does fly over your farm and you have reached 100% perfection, then there is the additional chance that the witch will leave a golden egg in a coop. Overall, the chances for this to happen are very slim, so buying an egg would be the quickest method.
Raising A Golden Chicken
Now that you have your golden egg, it's time to incubate it! It will take about seven days for a golden egg to incubate in a coop. This is the same amount of time that it takes for normal eggs to incubate. If you have the Coopmaster profession selected, then incubation time will be cut in half.
Once the egg has incubated, a golden chicken will hatch. The chicken will still be a baby, but after three days, it will mature and start laying one golden egg every day.
Golden eggs are described in the game as rare, and they sell for a lot of money. Below, you can check out the selling price for golden eggs of different qualities.
Normal Quality | 500g |
Silver Quality | 625g |
Gold Quality | 750g |
Iridium Quality | 1,000g |
As you can see, golden eggs sell for a lot of money. In addition to selling golden eggs, you can also place them in a mayonnaise machine. One golden egg inside a mayonnaise machine will produce three gold-quality mayonnaise. Each one of these will sell for 285g, for a total of 855g.
This is a great sell price, but if you are getting iridium quality golden eggs, then it isn't worth it. Adding iridium quality golden eggs to a mayonnaise machine will result in less money than if you were to just sell the egg.
Overall, golden chickens are a good source of income. They lay eggs consistently, and are a testament to how much time you have invested into your farm.
