Steam Breaks Concurrent User Record Again, Crosses 26 Million

Steam

It was only last month that Steam had broken its record for the number of concurrent users online. However, the popularity of the platform continues to trend upwards – according to SteamDB, the new concurrent user record is 26,401,443. The current COVID-19 pandemic is doubtless a contributor, as it was with previous records.

However, the Winter season may have also played a role since more users would be confined indoors. Though it remains to be seen whether the concurrent total can be broken again this Spring, it’s probably best not to underestimate Steam. After all, there are a number of big releases in the coming months like Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Resident Evil Village and so on.

In the meantime, Steam is currently hosting the Steam Game Festival with over 500 demos of various indie titles to try out. It’s scheduled to end tomorrow with the Lunar New Year Sale kicking off shortly after. Stay tuned for more details soon.

Steam continues shattering its concurrent users records, right now at 26.3 million users! ?
