Nearly 2 weeks after the official Steam Deck Dev-Kit requests opened, Valve has now prepared and is sending Steam Deck Dev-Kits to developers.

On September 2nd, Valve announced to devs: “Fill out the form and be sure to read through the agreement and dev kit guidelines. Dev kit supplies are limited, so we’ll be reviewing requests via the online form on a case by case basis and will be shipping them out as quickly as possible. We can’t wait to get all of these dev kits into your hands, and we’d love to get your feedback on Steam Deck.”

Now, it looks like the kits are being shipped off to the few lucky devs who will receive Valve’s latest device a few months early for testing: “All packaged up and ready for devs! This is one of the limited batches of Steam Deck dev-kits heading out today for partners to test their games.”

What kind of feedback or news can we expect from the devs? According to the Steam Deck Dev-Kit FAQ, developers are free to post footage and images of their game running on a Steam Deck. Posting any media of what the new Steam UI or any hardware specs is strictly forbidden. In addition, all developers are not allowed to talk with media about the Steam Deck – which means no leaks of performance or issues.

Still, we will be able to see how different games run on the Steam Deck. It’ll be interesting to see all the performance analysis based off the videos the developers release, as well as how the controls seem to be handling.

Are you excited to see how your games will handle on the Steam Deck? Let us know down in the comments, or hit us up on Twitter or Facebook.
