Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin improvements detailed

Square Enix and Team Ninja have published the survey results following their demo trial for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

The gritty action roleplaying game debuted with a playable preview earlier this year. For those who don’t know the genre well, Team Ninja is the studio best known for their Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive series, as well as Nioh and Nioh 2.

Overall, those who sampled Stranger of Paradise were mostly satisfied with the upcoming game. However, the survey results flagged a number of areas where this Final Fantasy spin-off needs improvements ahead of its release date. These include the graphics, characters, and environmental designs, as well as the clarity of in-game battle info.

Team Ninja is treating Stranger of Paradise in the same way they did with Nioh 2, working close with the community ahead of launch to iron out issues and avoid disappointment on launch day.

Translated by our friends over at RPG Site, here is a list of improvements the devs have committed to:

Overall, we walked away from the Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy trial fairly impressed. The battle mechanics, job system, and loot drops hooked us in and wanting more. However, if there was one part of the game we didn’t love, it was the bland, boring character designs. Giving the Warrior of Light a buzz cut and a black tee is miserable look for a series steeped in so much myth and lore.

There’s no release date for the upcoming Final Fantasy game though expect it to arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022.
