A new trend of seemingly topless streamers is hitting Twitch, and one of its most prominent proponents just got banned.

Streamers on Twitch and other platforms are always competing for views and it’s often the loudest or most graphic content that gets the most views, which frequently leads to rules being bent or outright broken.

Concepts like the hot tub trend, where lightly clothed streamers would sit in a hot tub for hours, and gambling have been a hot topic on Twitch for years. The official response was often confusing and contradictory, with both bans and the creation of a separate hot tub sub section – although Twitch did completely ban most gambling from its site.

The new trend in town is streamers who are seemingly topless but are just hiding their nipples out of sight. Although technically that keeps them within the rules, it seems Twitch has already had enough of it.

Twitch dusted off its banhammer and barred streamer and OnlyFans model Morgpie when a video of her seemingly topless and dancing went viral.

In the video Morpie thanks a subscriber with a short dance, seemingly topless, and it’s believed this clip was the final straw, as the streamer’s Twitch account has now been banned.

In reaction to her ban, Morgpie tagged Twitch in a post on Twitter asking how much money she generated for her charity during the last stream before her ban. Twitch hasn’t given a reason for her ban publicly, but that’s normal as the streaming platform rarely explains its reasons.

Morgpie isn’t the only one who’s doing it, as streamers such as StrawberryTabby and AsianBunnyx have also broadcast with their nipples just out of sight, although so far they haven’t been banned.

Twitch’s policy on nudity says that it’s prohibited to show ‘female presenting individual’s breasts with exposed nipples (unless actively breastfeeding a child)’.

Morgpie might’ve thought she found a loophole, as it doesn’t clearly state that what she’s doing is illegal, as she isn’t showing her nipples.

However, there’s also policy on suggestive sexual content, including ‘erotic dances’, which says:

‘To ensure content on Twitch is appropriate for diverse audiences, sexually suggestive content is prohibited on Twitch. Evaluations on the sexual suggestiveness of a behaviour or activity are independent of user attire and are instead based on the overall surrounding framing and context.

For example, you may not engage in erotic dances, such as those involving stripping or flashing.’

In that sense Morgpie definitely seems to be pushing the boundaries of Twitch’s policy on sexually suggestive content.
