Developer Dotemu have announced that Streets of Rage 4 will have DLC, but that it is still in the early stages.

Referencing their Ask Me Anything thread on Reddit (along with co-developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games) Dotemu tweeted their answer to if they would add content to the game. “YES, we will but there is no ETA. You guys are awesome and deserve the best so give us time to do things right.”

In the Reddit thread they stated “There are many questions about the potential DLC, so I’ll give an answer here: We have many ideas, and we really want to add more content in the future. But nothing has been decided yet, so we are listening to you and will let you know ‘what’ and ‘when’ soon.”

Other questions answered included Lizardcube expressing an interest in bringing back other retro Sega titles such as Shining Force and Landstaker, Dotemu focusing on adding content to Streets of Rage 4 rather than a sequel, and how sales and game reviews exceeding their expectations.

Dotemu also revealed that throwing allies into enemies was a cut feature, but something they are thinking of being able to put back in.
