Suicide Squad 2: 10 Best Quotes, Ranked | Game Rant

The new Suicide Squad 2 not only offers a lot of action scenes and memorable characters, but it's also very funny and cleverly written. When they're not fighting their enemies, the characters are often busily quipping with one another. Considering their character differences, it makes sense it would take them some time to find a common ground.

That would be difficult enough even if the team didn't have the task to infiltrate a foreign city and then stop a large alien starfish. With so many hilarious moments and one-liners, it's almost impossible to pick the best ones. Still, some quotes stand out among the rest.

10 King Shark Likes His Food

Despite being voiced by Sylvester Stallone, King Shark isn't the greatest talker in the world, let alone a thinker. His most favorite word is "Nom nom!" which he says before eating someone.

This quickly lets both his enemies and the audience know what they're dealing with. King Shark simply enjoys good food, and he doesn't let anybody stop him from doing so.

9 Harley's Personal Motto

Unlike other quotes on this list, nobody speaks this one aloud. Instead, it's visible on Harley's jacket while she attends the mission. The jacket has the words: "Live fast. Die clown." printed on it.

Anybody who knows the character of Harley Quinn will realize the description fits her perfectly. Harley isn't the type of person to slow down, and she likes to have fun more than anybody else.

8 Peacemaker's Belief

As one of the less sympathetic members of the team, Peacemaker constantly competes with Bloodsport. He's also responsible for killing Rick Flag and he almost murders Ratcatcher 2. Despite all his bad traits, his quote, "I cherish peace with all of my heart. I don't care how many men, women, and children I kill to get it," is one of the best.

This quote explains in two sentences what the character of Peacemaker is all about. What's more, it also gives Ratcatcher 2 the chance to wonder which of her co-members is the most unhinged one (spoiler alert: it isn't Harley).

7 Famous Last Words

Suicide Squad's R-rating means that the heroes bleed, swear, and sometimes even meet their end. One such character is the Polka Dot-Man. After confronting Starro, whom he sees as his giant mother, Polka Dot-Man victoriously shouts: "I'm a superhero! I'm a motherf*****g superhero!" He's immediately crushed by Starro the next second, but at least he went out happy with himself.

The moment is also a surprise for the viewers because they don't expect Polka Dot-Man to die, not right after he finally grew more confident. It proves that life isn't always fair toward the members of the Suicide Squad.

6 The Best Disguise

Even though he doesn't speak much, King Shark easily has some of the funniest quips in the film. When the team is getting ready to infiltrate the city, King Shark doesn't like the idea he should stay hidden. Instead, he suggests he's going to wear a disguise.

And when Ratcatcher 2 asks him what type of disguise, he knocks it out of the park by proposing his genius idea: "Big mustache!" He then proceeds to hold his finger over his lip like a mustache. Needless to say, this sort of disguise doesn't work, and King Shark has to hide anyway.

5 Optimism In Action

The Suicide Squad members realize that their line of work is dangerous and it's likely they might not make it. Still, when Bloodsport sighs that they're all going to die, Polka Dot-Man's sardonic answer makes the whole situation hilarious. "I hope so," he says.

Bloodsport looks like he would rather be anywhere else. This isn't what optimism looks like, but considering the situation the team is in, Polka Dot-Man's fatalistic approach makes surprisingly good sense.

4 What's A Hand

In one of the funniest moments in the film, the Suicide Squad attends a mission briefing. When Amanda Waller finishes and asks if anybody has any questions, King Shark raises his hand.

When Waller tells him to speak, he says he has a hand. Waller's reaction is priceless: "Yes, that is your hand. Very good." It's easy to imagine Waller talking to her children this way, and her saying it to King Shark makes the exchange even more hilarious.

3 What Is A Weasel?

The Weasel is by far one of the strangest Task Force X members who appear in the film is. He's so strange that it stands out even in comparison to King Shark. When the team is flying to Corto Maltese, they start to discuss what exactly the Weasel is.

The first theory is that he's a dog, but then Harley enters the conversation by saying: "Oh my god, you're a werewolf?" That causes Blackguard to panic: "You stuck me next to a werewolf? Yo man, let me out!" Needless to say, the Weasel is neither a dog nor a werewolf, but even the hardcore Suicide Squad members simply aren't prepared at dealing with someone as strange as him.

2 Harley Hates Personalized License Plates

Harley Quinn always knows what she likes — or doesn't. When the team captures the Thinker and forces him to help them, they let him know what he shouldn't do if he doesn't want to die. Harley then adds: "We find out you have personalized license plates, you die!"

The Thinker is understandably confused but that doesn't deter Harley from continuing. "If you cough without covering your mouth, you die!" While it doesn't directly influence the situation at hand, it's difficult to deny Harley has a point. Coughing without covering one's mouth is awfully inconsiderate. And as for the personalized license plates, well, everybody has a different taste, Harley included.

1 The Worst Villains Are Humans

Even though Starro kills multiple people, including some of the team members, he isn't the worst bad guy. Rather, the true villains are those who experimented on him. As Starro puts it: "I was happy in space, looking at the stars…"

By taking him out of his natural environment and using him for years, humans have made Starro into the madman that the Suicide Squad has to stop. In the end, the film not only makes the audience laugh, but also has the power to make them think.
