Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was a fairly surprising announcement at DC’s recent FanDome event. The game’s trailer was attention-grabbing with the shot of Superman just flat out killing someone in the opening. The game is taking advantage of the fairly recent rising in popularity of the Suicide Squad with the recent films and the Harley Quinn TV show which brought even more eyes to one of the team’s most popular characters.

The game might also be a continuation of the Batman Arkhamverse continuity, as the game’s developer, Rocksteady is also the developer that brought player’s the bulk of that series. Either way, this is a very exciting announcement, which is helped by players not knowing too much about the game, generating a mystery that generates even more hype. One thing that players can expect is a selection of different characters to play as because of the nature of Task Force X itself. This means we can expect announcements in the coming months about different characters that we can play as but there are four characters that we know we are going to be able to play as right now.
4 King Shark
King Shark is a character that players will know if they watch the Harley Quinn TV show but this character’s interpretation will be a lot different than the lovable character we got in the show. This version of the character will probably be more similar to the character that fans are used to seeing in the comics. This means that the character is going to be a not so mindless killing machine instead of a shy social media manager.

The character is set to be voiced by WWE superstar Samoa Joe, who is the perfect candidate to get across the mean image the comic book version of the character is known for. In terms of speculation on how the character will play, it is likely that King Shark will be the brawler character of the Suicide Squad, relying on sheer force and brutality, possibly with some cool finishers using his shark teeth if the game is rated Mature. King Shark is basically going to be the Tank of the group, being able to take massive amounts of damage and even deal a fair amount himself, probably with some level of Crowd Control added into his playstyle to round him out. There might even be a mode where he sees blood and goes berserk, which would be interesting.
3 Deadshot
Deadshot is the second confirmed character for the game and this game’s interpretation of the character is seemingly taking a lot of inspiration from the Will Smith interpretation of the character, with the character being African American instead of Caucasian like he is in the comics. The character will likely play in the style of a stylish gunslinger, keeping enemies at a distance with fast and accurate shooting and quick evasive movement. It is likely, with Rocksteady developing this game, that Deadshot might take some gameplay queues from Red Hood from Batman Arkham Knight, who is a character that is very similar to Deadshot in fighting style and weapon choices.
2 Captain Boomerang
Everyone’s favorite villainous Australian makes his non-LEGO based video game debut in the upcoming 2022 title. Captain Boomerang has always been something of a joke character especially to those who live in North America. He’s an evil Australian with the most hammed up accent imaginable and literally fights using a boomerang, one of five things people outside of Australia know about the country. In terms of character, the trailer seems to get the main feeling of the character down pretty well but that’s not the hard part.

The hard part will be seen when players get to see more of the gameplay, as it can be hard to think of what Captain Boomerang’s playstyle will be like in an Arkhamverse title. It is likely that Captain Boomerang will be a straight forward brawler, perhaps using his Boomerang in a similar way to how Batman used his Batarangs. If this is what Captain Boomerang’s playstyle turns out to be it is likely that he will be a starting or tutorial character for the game.
1 Harley Quinn
Ending off with the last playable character that we know about so far is the ever-popular Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn is likely going to be the poster character for the game, being the most popular character to actually be a regular member of the Suicide Squad and being one of the most popular characters that DC has right now in general. Unfortunately for fans of her animated TV show, Kaley Cuoco will not be taking up the voice of the character in the game. The character will instead be voiced by Tara Strong, most famous for being the voice of Timmy Turner for Fairly Odd Parents, who played Harley in both Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight, which makes sense as this game is set in the Arkham continuity. Harley’s playstyle is likely to be straight forward and easy to pick up and most likely more familiar to those who have played previous Arkham games.
