The developers at Superhot Team are officially releasing Superhot: Mind Control Delete next week. The game will be free for millions of users.
According to a tweet from the developer, Superhot: Mind Control Delete is free for owners of the original Superhot. You’ll have to buy the original game prior to the release of Mind Control Delete.
The free game offer extends to owners of the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game should automatically get added to your game library on Steam. For Xbox One owners, a system message will include a free voucher.
However, the offer does not extend to owners of Superhot VR. It also does not extend to owners of Superhot on the Nintendo Switch or anyone who acquired the game for free through Twitch Prime or Xbox Live Games with Gold.
My Take
Superhot: Mind Control Delete has been in Steam Early Access since 2017. So the launch has been a long time coming. For the developers to just give the follow-up away is an unusually nice gesture to fans of the original game. Some might say it’s super nice.
