There’s been a lot of good news about Pokémon Legends: Arceus this week, and to add to it – we’ve got some updated sales information about the previous mainline entry on the Switch, Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Serebii webmaster Joe Merrick has highlighted how Sword and Shield have moved up the Pokémon ladder – surpassing Pokémon Gold and Silver lifetime sales (sitting at 23,700,000). This has been expected for some time now.

Nintendo’s latest financial data reveals Sword and Shield are now just under 24 million units, although the original Game Boy titles from ’96 are still out in front. Here are the latest figures:

Red / Green / Blue – 31,380,000
Sword / Shield – 23,900,000
Gold / Silver – 23,700,000
Diamond / Pearl – 17,670,000
