Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Confirmed For Gamescom

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge has been confirmed to appear at Gamescom.

Geoff Keighley shared the news whilst Tweeting about the games that will be making an appearance at the Opening Night Live Gamescom presentation. Among games like the Saints Row reboot, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Sifu, Keighley shared that Shredder's Revenge would be resurfacing to make an appearance.

Keighley said, "Wednesday, turtle power! Tune in to Gamescom Opening Night Live for an announcement and world premiere new look at TMNT Shredder's Revenge from Dotemu and Tribute Games". There isn't any indication as to what the announcement might contain, just that it's both a new look at the game and an announcement, which gives a pretty big hint as to what it will be.

The most likely announcement to come from Gamescom is a release date. Dotemu has previously said that the game would be releasing in 2021, so it's not too far-fetched to think that they might have some sort of concrete information to share on the game, especially considering the drought of information since the game was originally announced earlier in the year.

Although the fan response to Shredder's Revenge has been incredibly positive, we actually haven't seen too much from the game yet. The first reveal trailer mostly showed off the intro and some brief snippets of gameplay, whilst the release date and Nintendo Switch port announcement only gave us a few more seconds of footage overall. From the sounds of it, we'll be getting a full gameplay walkthrough of the game during Gamescom.

One big fan request is for characters other than the Turtles to be playable. After the first trailer was unveiled, fans started to request characters like Shredder and April to be made playable, which wouldn't be too surprising considering they're featured in the reveal trailer. One character who has been noticeably absent from the game so far is Casey Jones, with Dotemu avoiding questions as to where he is.
