Crafting the Cell Phone in Terraria 1.4 is a mission. It's a very complicated item to put together, requiring loads of different accessories all combined at the Tinkerer's Workshop. You should, in theory, be able to get everything you need after defeating Skeletron, but realistically you might have to wait much longer before you have all the different parts.

Pick up everything, and keep everything stored in an organized chest area. Letting your storage get out of control is a time-consuming setback in Terraria, especially when you're rummaging around for that Depth Meter you put in a chest, somewhere, a long time ago.
Every Item You Need To Craft The Cell Phone
Here is a complete list of every single item you need to craft the Cell Phone.
- 10 Platinum or Gold Bars
- Platinum or Gold Watch
- Chain
- Depth Meter
- Compass
- GPS
- Ice Mirror or Magic Mirror
- Radar
- DPS Meter
- Tally Counter
- Stopwatch
- Lifeform Analyzer

We will break down how to craft each of the four main components (The GPS, R.E.K. 3000, Goblin Tech, and Stopwatch) below.
How To Craft The GPS In Terraria 1.4
The GPS is made up of these parts:
- Platinum or Gold Bar – This ore should be easy to find in the Cavern layer and below. You will have either Gold or Platinum in your world.
- Chain – You can craft chains with either Lead or Iron bars, depending on which ore you have in your world.
- Platinum or Gold Watch – Combine 10 bars of Gold or Platinum with a Chain to make its respective watch.
- Depth Meter – This item is dropped by Cave Bats, Ice Bats, Jungle Bats, Spore Bats, Salamanders, Giant Shellys, and Crawdads. Because of the frequent spawn rate of Jungle Bats, you can easily farm for the Depth Meter in the Underground Jungle.
- Compass – The Compass is dropped by Giant Shellys, Salamanders, Crawdads, Piranhas, Mother Slimes, Snow Flinxes, Undead Vikings, and Armored Vikings. It has the highest drop percentage from Mother Slimes and Vikings, so the Cavern layer and below is a good area to farm for this item.
To craft the GPS, you just need to combine the Watch, Depth Meter, and Compass together at the Tinkerer's Workshop.

How To Craft The R.E.K. 3000 In Terraria 1.4
The R.E.K. 3000 is crafted with these items:
- Radar – An easy enough item to find, you can pick up the radar from surface chests and chests in the Underground layers.
- Tally Counter – This item is dropped by minions in the Dungeon, the Angry Bones, Cursed Skulls, and Dark Casters, which means you will need to have defeated Skeletron before getting access.
- Lifeform Analyzer – Potentially one of the more frustrating items to get (unless you're lucky) as it is sold by the Traveling Merchant for five gold coins.
These items are then combined at the Tinkerer's Workshop to craft the R.E.K. 3000.
How To Craft Goblin Tech In Terraria 1.4
All these items are needed to craft Goblin Tech in Terraria 1.4:
- DPS Meter – Sold by the Traveling Merchant for five gold coins, like the Lifeform Analyzer. Just buy it whenever you see it, you don't know when it'll appear again.
- Stopwatch – Sold by the Traveling Merchant for five gold. Again, just buy it whenever you see it appear at the merchant's shop.
- Metal Detector – This item is dropped by the Nymph, a fairly rare Cavern-layer enemy. She can be difficult to find, as she appears as the Lost Girl NPC until approached by the player. Use a combination of Hunter Potions and the Lifeform Analyzer to find her hiding in dark spots. She might be rare, but she still appears from time to time. Even if you do find her, she only has a 50 percent chance to drop the Metal Detector, which makes this crafting component one of the harder ones to get.
These items are then combined at the Tinkerer's Workshop to craft the Goblin Tech.
How To Craft The Fish Finder In Terraria 1.4
Oh, the Fish Finder. This item requires you to complete Angler quests, each with a percentage chance to drop as a reward for completing quests. Here are the items.
- Fisherman's Pocket Guide – Dropped by the Angler after completing any fishing quest, with a drop rate of 1/30, or 33 percent. Yes, you might need to complete 30 quests before you see this reward.
- Weather Radio – Same again, dropped by the Angler for completing quests with a 33 percent chance to see it as a reward.
- Sextant – Once again, only dropped with a 33 percent chance after completing an Angler quest.

Putting The Cell Phone Together
So you have:
- GPS
- R.E.K. 3000
- Goblin Tech
- Fish Finder
Now you just need to combine those items together to craft the PDA.
Once you have the PDA, combine the PDA with a Magic Mirror or Ice Mirror (you should have one of these lying around from the start of the game) and you will have the Cell Phone. Good job. You crafted one of the most complicated items in Terraria.
