Angry Birds Developer Sued Over Alleged Child Privacy Violations
Rovio Entertainment, the developer of Angry Birds, has been sued for collecting and selling the personal data of children under the age of thirteen. It’s clear this is what’s been going on, because children have been receiving targeted advertisements while playing on the app, which means their information is being sold to a third party. This directly violates the Children’s Online Protection Act, so New Mexico’s attorney general, Hector Balderas, has a strong case against the company. We don’t yet know how severe the consequences will be.
Kyle Bosman's 12 Hour Stream Raises $14,000 For Girls Who Code
Yesterday, Kyle Bosman decided to do a 12-hour stream of different versions of the game Tetris in order to raise money for Girls Who Code. If you aren’t familiar, Girls Who Code is a group whose mission is to help girls and women get into the computer science field. Bosman was donating 50 cents for every Tetris (or four-line clears) he got. In addition, there was a page where viewers or others could donate their own money as well. By the end, Bosman raised $14,000 through his stream.

Xbox Does Its Part For Vaccination Awareness And Covid-19
Xbox has proven that it is taking Covid-19 seriously, as it recently held a Q&A with CDC and CDC Foundation representatives. In a Twitter thread that highlighted some of the most important bits from the Q&A, Xbox tweeted “The power of play makes us heroes in new worlds every day. You can be a hero in real life too by getting vaccinated against COVID-19, protecting yourself & the people around you.” The tweets that followed these were full of resources pointing to the research that’s been done on the vaccine, its effectiveness, and the safety of the vaccines.
Skyrim Movement Mod Drastically Improves Third-Person Controls
The True Directional Movement mod, created by Ersh, has significantly changed the way people can play Skyrim. The mod makes Skyrim’s third-person gameplay feel like Assassin’s Creed, God of War, or Horizon Zero Dawn, allowing the player to move and attack freely in any direction, as opposed to how unsmooth it felt before. The mod also comes with a target function, so you can lock on to specific enemies.
